Boots for Funky Friday

Thanks to my new internet friend materfamilias, and her weekly My Shoes Wednesday feature, I've become enchanted with John Fluevog shoes. They are funky, whimsical, maybe just a little bit bratty (in a good way) and seem to be designed for the woman who knows her own mind.

These boots for example, are perfect for stomping away in a huff from the coffeehouse where your date has just declared that he always votes Republican, and thinks "Newt Gingrich is making a lot of sense these days."

  1. way too cool! Not just the boots, but me being mentioned in a post -- and that on a blog that was mentioned by the Manolo!! Talk about degrees of separation: I'm practically a celebrity!
Oh, and the boots are very, very cool and I can think of a few Canadian stand-ins for Newt Gingrich--what a great scenario you've sketched to stage these little-bit-bratty wonders.

  2. Oh, myyyy. Sassy. Miss J should have NEVER hit the link button, tho. So much temptation...

  3. Love the boots--but Zappos has them mostly sold out except for a few sizes. But I was inspired and bought similar ones from La Canadienne. If you haven't tried L.C, you should--soooo comfortable but not quite as funky.

  4. Yes, I didn't see that zappos was pretty well tapped out on sizes until after I posted the link. You can apparently still order directly from fluevog.com though. According to the zappos reviews, order a full size larger than your normal size.

    Indeed, these are quite tempting!

  7. I have these in th eknee-high version. The crepe-soled heel is both unusual and far more comfortable than a typical heel! Fleuvog's are very well made - worth it even at full price. You can go quite stompy-funky, but they also have subtler styles(like this Operetta line)that will earn you an appreciative double take and are appropriate for work in an office, not just a record store!

  8. I found my way here via Materfamilias, and I love what I'm seeing. These boots in particular sing! Some foot-issues have kept me from indulging my fancy for witty footwear, but I can't stop thinking about the shapes in this line. I may have to get a pair just to gaze upon, heel-height be damned!

  9. Ces bottes sont fabuleux! They are also great when you want to kick some ass and you know you can't because you're suppose to be an adult, so you just huff away and walk loudly down the street! lol!
