I'm supposed to be on a serious budget right now what with all of the holiday spending, but can't get these shoes off my mind.
Strangely enough, what really hooked me was the profile from the back:
Arche "Fiona." I blame this new obesession on Duchesse who suggested in comments I check out Arche shoes and mentioned that they were washable (apparently, they are).
Golly, I've not yet gone into that price range, but I'm sure if things keep up, I will get there someday. I've been intrigued by Arche shoes as well. But as I browsed Zappos, I noticed this shoe's sister Feyrat boot, on the same chassis (last?): http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/31158695/c/46049.html and am quite smitten, especially the green/black combo. The d-ring buckles!
Once you know your Arche size, put it into your eBay search list. I buy 40% in Arche stores and 60% on eBay.
For those of you washing them: in a sink, in mild soap- soak 45 min or so, scrub gently with a soft brush (old toothbrush), air dry with shoe trees inside.
What an interesting profile -- and you get some height, but they look comfy as well, and very well made. And you know you deserve them!
