Seriously, what kind of person wakes up one morning with the thought, "Hey, what the world really needs are sandals with built-in black socks! "?

  9. Dejapseu: I take it that it is safe to conclude you have never visited the English seaside. Plenty of English people wear their sandals with socks. Usually it is cold and breezy so if one has to enjoy the seaside, one protects oneself, arms oneself with a hat and a folding chair and heads to the beach. Protection includes such sandals with socks... I am serious.

  10. Shefaly - yes, but would they wear them to the office? We get a bit of that here. And I'm genuinely curious...if it's cold, why not just wear a sports shoe instead?

  11. Dejapseu: I think the British public has not yet resolved the smart-casual puzzle so I have seen some al-bizarro things being worn to work. Including sandals with socks on casual Fridays. Beats me too...

  12. i never understood why anyone would wear socks with sandals. the only thing that would make this worse is if he were wearing crocs instead.
