Thanks to Monsieur Fred the Mole, I am now seriously craving this scarf. And I'm not a "blue" person. On peut acheter ici.

While doing a search yesterday, I ran across the Lafayette 148 website. Now here's a brand that's speaking my language. I so want this jacket!
Paris-worthy? Mais oui!
Paris-worthy? Mais oui!I'm holding off on both for now, but DAMN.
The scarf designer's website doesn't show the scarf off nearly as well as that photo on EasyFashion, does it? The Lafayette site looks great, pricey but great. There are some gorgeous dresses there -- makes me wish I had places to wear them ;-)
ReplyDeleteagreed - nice jacket. i do love the lafayette line - they're a bit pricey so i haven't splurged just yet but it's definitely on the list!
ReplyDeleteLovely scarf -- well spotted! The other colourways are beautiful, too. The jacket would suit your petite proportions. Unfortunately, it would make me look as if I'd exploded, Hulk-like, out of it.
ReplyDeleteIMO the value is there for Lafayette... c'est absolument Paris worthy- and you can wear it for work or not.
ReplyDeleteHave seen a the line on sale here but the perfect jacket in your size,
order tout de suite and see how you like it!
I´ve never heard about this Lafayette 148, so I went to their online shop. Everything there is very affordable, but at the same time I got this ugly feeling that these clothes are meant for women of this certain age. They are s o grown-up, actually too much so. Didn´t like the collection at all. I prefer picking my clothes from here and there, mixing and matching.
ReplyDeleteximgkyAh, we have mutual good taste! I have the coat version of that Lafayette jacket and it's really flattering. I wore it to Italy (we'll be paying for that trip forever) and even got compliments from a few Italian women. I even throw it over jeans and walk the dogs in it. It was expensive, very expensive, but I'm glad I bought it. It's just a trade-off: I won't be buying much else for the rest of the year.
ReplyDeleteLafayette has a petite line too; I think you mentioned you were petite. Sorry, my aging mind is very forgetful.

Yikes, I have no idea where that greeting xk... came from! I need coffee, fast. Sorry.

ReplyDeleteInteresting, because that's what I liked about some of the pieces. To me, they are mature and sophisticated, yes, but not stodgy. I guess I'm embracing my grownup-edness these days, not trying to look or dress like a twenty-something.
Yes to that jacket!! It so fits in our "W.I.W.T.I.P." rule. THe blue is pretty and would be great on you. Lafayette 148 is at Nordstroms, I think.
ReplyDeleteI'd also add that it's difficult to find work-appropriate clothing with a little panache. Most of their styles would be quite at home in a corporate environment, but would stand out a bit from basic blazers.
ReplyDeleteLBR - I think actually Nordie's doesn't carry this brand anymore. :-( It's no longer listed on their website, and when I was in the store yesterday I couldn't find it. They are available from Saks, I think.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous jacket. And I agree...it fits your Parisian sensbility to a T. :-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous scarf (and I am a blue person!), and I'm loving that jacket. It would look great on you. Why on earth have you put them on hold?
ReplyDeleteGirlgriot, let's just say I'm a little bit over budget for the season right now. ;-)
