Living at the beach as we do, you'd think I'd be buying a few new swimsuits every year, but instead I rely on two that I bought on sale several years ago, and I only ever swim here, where it's pretty cottage-style, only my neighbours and family around, and I can change out of my suit very quickly. Luckily, we never do tropical/resort holidays. I hate, hate, hate swimsuit shopping! If I could stand to do it, these swimsuits look perfect, but given that we're barely warming up at the end of June, I suspect I'm going to eke another season's wear out of these sorry old suits.
I've realized I love my Anitas. Flattering (as such) and comfortable.
I've never tried on a Miraclesuit. Does the tightness around the middle bother folks? I tried a Lands End and thought I would pass out for lack of air.
dana - I don't find Miraclesuits particularly constricting. Some of the Land's End suits can feel like putting on a girdle, but I still love that retro halter one.
I have never been a beach girl (pale irish genetics - the sun is NOT my friend...) but I have on occasion had to go swim suit shopping. Hate hate hate it, no matter what shape I am in. I usually wind up with a black suit as they tend to make black - or garish colors...hot pink etc....Thank god for catalog/online shopping!
I do find it funny that I have a few suits in the same design as the suit you chose, and a few pics of my mother in the 70's version of the exact same shape. Flattering is flattering, no matter what decade we're in!
It fits well, looks fabulous on, and stays put.
