Les Lunettes

My most recent eyewear investment. Yes, I love me some big ol' nerdygirl glasses. No, I didn't break my spending ban...got these a few weeks ago. What first drew me to these was the color. They're a nifty greenish blue, with some layers of different color around the eyes, and a more denim blue on the side pieces. These colors go with everything. They're also surprisingly lightweight.

These are by Face Á Face Paris. My previous pair was by Robert Marc. Ooh La-La Paris eyewear (actually based in LA) also offers some great colors and styles.

I'm learning to keep my old eyeglass frames; styles seem to cycle back through every decade or so.

  1. Hi Pseu: Frames always kill me when I fork over but really, even more than hairstyle they are worth it, oui? Yours are so chic and I liked "seeing" you!

The shapes may recyle somewhat but the newer materials- the layers of colour and hardware- have evolved.

  2. I love those! I'm beginning to hanker after a new pair altho' I still love my old ones, a muted purple/burgundy pair by Anne et Valentin. But with my expensive prescription, they rang out at $1300 (I've paid less for cars, back in the day!), so I'll probably stretch them out 'til my prescription changes. I'd love to have two or three pairs at a time that I really love.

  3. Love them. Miss J needs a new pair soon and she kinda wants these now.

And Miss Deja, your are lovely, too. So good to see the face that goes with all those great scarves.

  5. Ooh! Those are great! I have been jonesing for new eyeglasses for some time now, but since I hardly ever wear mine outside my home, I just can't bring myself to spend the ducats. I think I want a pair of really ool red ones... But those are terrific, Pseu, and they look fab on you.

  6. Aww, you all are too kind. Now I'm blushing.

duchesse - if you apply amortization over time, glasses are probably cheaper per wear than most of what's in our closet. (now *there's* a rationalization you can hang onto!)

materfamilias - yikes, that's some prescription! but I guess mine are probably around $700 before insurance picks up their portion. The progressive lenses are what drive the total up.
