So on Saturday morning, I decided to take a break from the Closet Purge Project and go over to Saks to play with makeup and maybe get some freebies. But on a whim, I decided to peruse the Petites section first just to have a look at what labels and styles they were carrying these days. I had absolutely NO intention of actually buying anything but when I got off the elevator, I noticed that every single rack had a sign indicating 50% off.
I've been hankering after a Lafayette 148 jacket for several months. They are gorgeous and stylish, but also quite pricey, which has kept me from signing on the dotted line up until now. This particular jacket was marked down twice from $548, and with the 50% off applied to the lowest price, it came in at about $140!

I've promised myself that I won't be seduced by low prices alone, and won't purchase anything I don't absolutely love. Once I tried it on, I was smitten. It fits like a dream and is really well made, a soft, black textured fabric with flecks of red, blue, brown, purple and lots of sparkly gold. I figured it would be a nice jacket to wear for dressier evenings out, but Karen convinced me I could wear it during the day. I wore it to work Tuesday and have never received so many compliments, even from complete strangers. I just love the collar on this; it's so flattering.
But wait, there's more...
