The point is, I have a leopard.

Well, my austerity program isn't working out quite how I'd planned. I blame Style Spy; thanks to this reminder from her I stopped by the local Cole Haan store on Saturday just to peruse the sale items and report back. These boots called me over from across the room, winked and asked "Where have we been all your life, Gorgeous?"
Sure, they look fabulous. Sure they were marked down from the original price by almost 50%. But once I put them on I had to buy them...they are so comfortable (thanks to a nice arch support and Nike air soles) I may never take them off!!!

  4. Good Life - Thanks! Yes, they're a true leopard (not solid spotted cheetah) which puts me over the edge every time.

  11. Question #1: Which Cole Haan store?
Question #2: Do you have their phone number?
Question #3: Did they have them in a 9.5?
    Lucky you!!!

  16. Oh, lordy. They are too fabulous... There is just one question: are there any left in Miss Janey's size?

  17. I have looked at those often, and am jealous you found them for a good price!! They are fabulous, and I agree that you did the right thing. And La Belette Rouge, no, they don't have them in 9.5 because I checked and that is my size! :-(

  19. Style AND comfiness? You would have been a fool not to buy them! You will wear these for years. Very prudent spending, I think.

  20. Why WOULD you ever take those off? They sound and look like shoetastic perfection!

  21. Gorgeous - I've been wondering about the comfort of the Cole Haan nike air shoes - as we don't have them here (well not without enormous expense) so I was thinking when I came to LA next May I may purchase a pair - it sounds like this is something that I should definitely pursue!

    Good buy!

Couture Allure - thanks! I'm a total leopard print junkie, but I've learned that a little goes a long way...

  25. Duchesse - thank you. I love that they're a true leopard.

Kalee - what woman indeed? Thanks!

Karen - thanks! I'm a bit surprised that leopard prints are hard to find in Paris. Maybe some things really are better here in the US... at least that's what I keep telling myself so I don't miss Paris so much.

  26. Miss Janey - thanks, and you should call them and find out. (So far Rodeo store seems to have the most sizes.)

spacegeek - thanks! I can't underestimate the power of sheer dumb luck.

cas ruffin - isn't he the bee's knees?

  27. hollarback - thanks. I think these will end up being a good value.

Sal - thanks. I ultimately did have to take them off to go to bed...

Imogen - when the fit is right, they're fabulously comfortable. My feet are wide so some of the Cole Haan styles are too narrow for me, but these are perfection.

  31. A pair of size 10 of these beauties are on hold at the Rodeo Drive for me and yet I am thinking I want the full length knee high version. I will be at Cole Haan tomorrow. I only hope they honour the price they gave you.:-) Thanks, Deja, for everything!:-)

  32. Forced austerity rarely works. Hopefully real austerity doesn't come calling either.
