Color Inspiration from The Sartorialist

Swoon. Other than the tights and the little pouch, I would SO wear this or a version of it. I love this mix of colors!

The Sartorialist. (I get the feeling from his recent shots that Milano is having a mild winter.)

  2. I just loved this outfit, so much that I saved it onto my laptop! I don't think I'd wear the striped tights myself, but on her they look charming. The coat is great and was the first thing that captured my attention.

  3. Yes, that coat, bag & gloves make a great combo, not crazy about the socks!

  4. I love this as well -- masterful use of colour, which owes much to the strength and simplicity of the coat's cut/colour. Brilliant the way the quirky works against the classic/tailored -- I love it!

  6. Yes - works so well with her colouring.

Glad you're not going for the stripey tights!

  8. I agree with all above. That coat is a real classic that could be worn in so many different ways. This woman has made her own statement with it and yes, I love the unusual colour palette too. But it would work equally well with plain brown trousers and sweater and beautiful jewellery. The coat has a real 60s Givenchy feel to it - couldn't you see Audrey Hepburn in it?

No, Milan is freezing at the moment as is most of Europe - we're having quite a harsh winter this time. So either The Sartorialist caught this lady between house and car or he took the photo a while ago!

  9. I love her attitude- check the green fingerless gloves! And how her hair is so 'undone', then the perfectly made-up lips. I see coats like this in my Canadian city, sublime but always on sale racks b/c what one can wear in Italy in the winter is good for Sept-Oct here.

  10. I love this outfit too! A lot of people don't seem to go for the tights, but I think it's a tastefully eccentric touch.

  11. But the pouch goes so well with the tyrolean jacket you've shown!
