In Other News, Hindsight Still 20/20

I've been kicking myself for not picking up one of those green velvet jackets that were everywhere this last fall.

Photo (again) from The Sartorialist.

  1. I feel your pain. Next time, then?

  2. I hate that "coulda, shoulda, woulda" feeling. I still kick myself about a couple of things from years ago.

  3. Though not the rich jewel town on the shot on Sartorialist, you might find your size in this pretty olive color from J.Crew:

  4. Well, that'll teach me not to type and talk (or walk and chew gum) at the same time. "Jewel TONE" not "jewel town" (though that sounds pretty swell in its own way, too).

Also, I meant to mention that the jacket's marked down to $49.99.

  5. Rooi_Skoene - you know, I keep thinking I've learned to "grab it if I love it" but yes, next time for sure.

Couture Allure - me too, but I'm glad I jumped on one of your items recently. ;-) Look for it here tomorrow...

  6. Marsi - oh THANK YOU! I don't know how I missed that one, as I've been trolling the JCrew sale a lot lately. That olive color would coordinate nicely with several of my scarves....

  7. That emerald green would be so pretty with your red hair.

  8. No kidding -- especially since greens are great on you -- but knowing your shopping skills, you'll turn one up any day now at a fabulous sale price. I'm crossing my fingers for you. . .

  9. Fortunately this is a basic cut and even colour that will be around again next fall tho' the green may vary in shade. I find her banner of flame-red hair so beautiful.

  10. I'm curious. Why would one want to wear what everyone else is wearing? This is NOT a criticism--I just don't understand.

  11. Belle - thanks yes, that's what I was thinking.

Materfamilias - did you see above? Marsi has already done it for me!

  12. Duchesse - you'd better believe I'll be on the lookout when the fall collections start rolling in again. I know that the velvet blazers were so big this year; they were everywhere. I hope the choice will be as good next year.

WendyB - I can't imagine a better place for you to live! :-D

  13. lei - it's not so much that I want to wear what someone else is wearing, but rather that I saw something I loved and didn't act on it (perhaps thinking I'd be able to find one any time I wanted), and now seeing it again makes me regret that.

  14. Mine is black. I wish I had gotten a green one too.

  15. That is a lovely shade of green. I don't own a velvet blazer. I tried on Banana Republic's model this year, but it just didn't fit me right. I would love to have a midnight blue jacket. Maybe you will find it.
