Apologies that posting has been light this week and may continue to be sporadic over the next week or so. Aside from the fact that our monitor went on the fritz (it only works for about 10-15 minutes at a time) and we're still waiting for the new one to arrive, I've been a bit preoccupied with making long-distance arrangements to get my mother moved to a nursing home (she's in Ohio, I'm in LA) and may be taking a few days next week to go check up on her.In the meantime, the new March issue of Goldivas.com is up, including an article by une femme about incorporating Spring's hot trends now (and without breaking the bank). While you're there, be sure to check out all of the great articles.
More inspiration from The Sartorialist, these lifted from style.com.

Giovanna!! Does she have a fan club? I want to join!
If loving these cropped pants worn with fuzzy shoes is wrong, I don't want to be right.
I love the intensity of color here: hair, lips and pants.
Crazy mad, I know, but I want this kimono/coat/bathrobe/whatever-it-is!
~
Fond wishes for a smooth move, it's a big step. I know she will benefit from your caring attention.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your mum; I know that can be a tough transition.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who that Giovanna is but she might be the most stylish woman on the planet. And yes, those fuzzy shoes are just wrong.
I hope all goes well with your mother's move -- that's got to be challenging for everyone.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to reading your spring-fashion article.
Oh, sorry about your mother. :-(
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your mom--a difficult transition for all.
ReplyDeleteAs to the posts, really you've been doing just fine!
And I adore those black booties with the hot pink pants. They scream sexy to me! If I tried to wear them, my poor feet would be screaming torture instead, though. (Sigh)
Yikes - hope the move goes without a hiccup from here on in. Such stress!
ReplyDeleteI adore these looks, lady. I can't wait to play around with my cropped pants once it gets warm!
These are some great looks - funky and full of the wearer's personality.
ReplyDeleteHope your Mum is OK and the move goes well.
I look forward to reading your Goldivas article.
Duchesse - thanks. I'm feeling very relieved that she's getting the 24-hour care she needs.
ReplyDeletesarahn - Thanks. Isn't Giovanna fabulous??
mater - thank you. I feel much better now that it's a done deal. I owe a lot of thanks to my cousins who did on-the-ground legwork of getting papers signed, checks dropped off, etc.
Wendyb - thanks. This has been coming for a while and this move was overdue.
ReplyDeletespacegeek - thank you. I know she'd hoped to live out her days on her own, but she's just too weak now. Those high heels are something I've resigned myself to admiring from afar. I'll never be able to wear heels like that again (and really, I never could).
Sal - fortunately the move is done. Now we just have to clean out her apartment... :-o
ReplyDeleteImogen - yes, it was the personality shining through that I loved most about all of these, even more than the individual elements. Scott seems to capture that so well (as does Kamel at Style and the City Paris).
