  3. Yes! I think WW would approve of your realistic approach, no? Sometimes getting off the wagon is the best way to stay on it!

  5. My leader used to say only spend the points for something worth it, and this cutie, worth it.

Funny how some people are "gourmands de sucré" and others "gourmands de salé", eh?

That wouldn't tempt me at all. Now CHEESE, or olives, or savoury pastries (such as Greek or Middle-Eastern ones)...

But of course you have to treat yourself. Healthy eating doesn't mean obsession.

  7. I am hearing that Simpson's 80's flashback show street vendor call"..Chipwich for sale, chipwich for sale....." in my head

Sometimes a girl just needs a chipwich :)

  12. Dangman, I hope that is ice cream in the middle, and not some toxic marshmellion plasmatic concoction in between those "cookies". That said, Yay for frozen yummy treats!

  13. Style Spy - I don't stray this far often, but in this one instance it was worth it.

Miss Janey - I adore the Its Its too, but cannot find them anywhere in LA!

Materfamilias - it's like that Oscar Wilde line, something like the best way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it!

  14. WendyB - I'll bet someone has already calculated that!

Duchesse - in this case, it was just what the doctor ordered!

Lagatta - actually I'm not much of a "sweets" person; my transgressions are more along the salami-and-cheese route. But it was a hot day, we'd been shlepping all over Disneyland with our son for four hours, and this was calling to me!

  15. hollarback - that's the bottom line, isn't it?

joan - because this was so satisfying, it was easy to cut way back for the rest of the day to compensate.

    Bonjour Madame - indeed!

  16. Nancy - oh yes, I did!

Sher - it's great to have a bit of a weekly allowance.

spot - I cannot guarantee that there was real ice cream in the middle. But it was cold and very yummy.

Oh dear pseu, you had to mention salami AND cheese?

I can get EXCELLENT salami and cheese, the salami made in-house, at Marché Jean-Talon, in both French and Italian styles, and even a Balkan place. There are two artisanal, organic places - one from all over Québec and the other from îles de la Madeleine (Magdalen Islands). Would more than cancel out the short walk from my house.

  20. lagatta - now you're just tormenting me. :-D

One of the things we enjoyed most (and miss most) in Paris was the fantastic fresh hams and salamis.
