That long rectangle is known as the Basic Fold in the Hermes canon. You can do so many different ties from. But in real heat it is still too hot for me and I default to tying the scarf on a bag or wearing cotton or the small triangles.
Style Spy - thanks! There aren't many pinks that I can wear, but fortunately this is one.
Rita - let me know how it works. You can also twist and wear longer, instead of wrapped around twice.
Duchesse - good to know. I couldn't wear this if the temperature were much above 75F either. It's just been very cool here this week, so I haven't had to retire the big silks quite yet.
LPC - practice, practice, practice! I used to feel quite awkward tying and wearing scarves, but trial and error helped me find the ties that worked and felt best. Just grab a scarf and a mirror and experiment!
Erin - thanks, I've learned from Imogen's workshop that my color palette is "Dusky Warm Light," which explains why this color probably works better than the darker, more intense colors.
itatiI am petite like you, and love scarves, and this has opened up a whole new world for me... it makes it so much easier to work them into my wardrobe without feeling like I'm drowning in fabric -- thankyou!! The colour is so pretty...I also LOVE the pale green "Walk inthe park" scarf on you, with the leaves... it is yummy!
Please excuse the previous incoherent email -- I was debriefing my sister after a trip home to my Mom, over a bottle of Rosee... it's summer what can I say?!
That is a beautiful scarf. I am envious! And I'd like to thank you, albeit belatedly, for your post on the Sofft Franchesca shoes. I searched the internet for somewhere that would deliver to Australia, and today, at the end of a difficult and unpleasant week, my shoes arrived! And they are everything you promised ... gorgeous and comfortable!
Oh, that pink is delicious -- it makes me think of a macaron...
ReplyDeleteI love that scarf and the way you've tied it - I'm going to try that soon.
