Unpacking Paris


Ah, if only I had a suitcase large enough I'd pack up Paris and bring la ville home with me....but some photos, mustards, wines, chocolates, boots, scarves and handbags must suffice. Paris is like an addiction pour moi; no matter how much I see and experience, I'm always wanting more.

(Whew! Twelve hours in coach with malfunctioning air-conditioning is not une femme's idea of Happy Trails. Still, we're happy to be home even if quite fatigués.)


Above is a small taste of some of the Paris street style pics I snapped. This woman's ensemble captures many of the predominant trends I noticed: pants tucked into boots, big textured sweater, slouchy shoulder satchel. (For the record, I'll take a pass on the big sweaters.) The guy is also wearing boots under the pants.

(I mean your other home--sounds like Paris is your soul's home)I got to read these while I was on the road too, (not as glam a trip, unfortunately) and it was a little holiday for me too! The pics are gorgeous, you looked like you'd "gone native"in your chic wardobe,and I had the satisfaction of seeing my slouchy boots on best-dressed Parisians!
    Every so often I am fashionable through random selection, if not careful consideration!

  9. Glad to hear you are both home safe and sound. I clicked to enlarge the photo and I don't like that sweater on that woman at all - it looks sloppy. If someone gave it to me I'd wear it at home on very cold days, but not out and about in a city centre.

    StyleSpy - this was one of the more voluminous versions, but yes, slouchy and especially highly textured sweaters are popular.

  18. Cherie - it was a delight to meet you and get better acquainted over a chocolat chaud, and I hope that someday we have the opportunity to do so again. I agree that it felt like we've known each other much longer.

    Marsi - I'm glad you enjoyed. I think I have a few more recap posts coming, though I'm afraid you all will be bored with my single-minded Paris obsession before too long...

    Sher - I'm so glad I've been able to convey a small degree of the deliciousness we experienced. Paris is definitely a treat for the taste buds; it's a good thing we do so much walking!

  20. D.P., please don't take Ambien on a flight. If you're lucky enough to get any sleep from it, it can be very dangerous because it often renders people immobile during sleep, thus raising the risk of blood clots. If you've ever had a blood clot yourself or known someone who has, then you know how dangerous they are and how difficult blood thinners are to manage. Not worth it.
