Thank you for the link Pseu. I haven't followed haute couture for a few years because I just don't enjoy spending my time on the outrageous for the sake of. However some of these Dior creations are quite lovely and the colors are fantastic.
I'm always dispirited by the high-thigh cuts (few mature women wear them and those who do do not look lovely to me)- was delighted to see gorgeous dresses at the knee and some even longer skirts.
Definitely haute couture. Glorious outfits, lots of expensive cloth used. The only thing that bothered me was the whip in the first few pictures. What is it ´s function in these pictures?
One of my American friends in Paris called me to tell me to watch the Dior show. She then added the Herald Tribune review said something about Galliano's problem being that he always looks back not forward.
Well, hello? Who looks back, or anywhere for that matter through his eyes?
Thank you! Such marvellous theatre. Wouldn't you love to see a production with those outfits? Yes, there is a lot of beauty in the proportions, colours and materials that could well filter into "real" clothes for both men and women in daily life. Especially the more theatrical among us.

I saw these, and thought that I would love to need one of these for some reason. The red jacket with the riding skirt and top hat? OMG - I would LOVE to wear that. :-)
For some reason I just don't like that second dress. Maybe it it the asymetrical swish of fabric on the side that would make my huge hips look even bigger. As usual, most of the collection was brilliant beyond words.
