Le weekend

To celebrate my birthday, le monsieur made reservations to see this exhibit at LACMA tomorrow!

Renoir in the 20th Century.

Renoir in the 20th Century focuses on the last three decades of Renoir’s career, when, following his rupture with impressionism, he turned to an art that was
decorative, classical, and informed by a highly personal interpretation of the
Great Tradition.

LA has some really wonderful art museums and exhibits, and we've been trying to get out to see more of them.

What about you, any exciting weekend plans?

  3. I can't think of a better way to spend a birthday than a quality art show - remember that works of art usually increase in value with their age!

Do assume that a supper will follow up on Renoir!

  9. Happy Birthday! What a thoughtful plan your husband has made for enjoying the day with you, exposed to beauty sure to provoke interesting discussion. Enjoy -- you deserve!
We are likely to take in an exhibition as well -- Leonardo da Vinci's studies of the body at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Different century, different visions, of course, but still, I'll feel a wee bit connected to you as we walk from artwork to artwork.
