Twisted at the office...

(This is my very first attempt at Polyvore on the Floor, so please bear with me!)

Here's my first classic-with-a-twist ensemble incorporating my new Fluevog shoes.  I'm rather pleased!

And here's the "live" ensemble:
Wore the new shoes all day today and did errands at lunchtime that required some walking.  Even so, I came home and didn't feel the need to take them off until I was ready to start my above artistic endeavor.  Two thumbs up for these shoes!!

Navy jacket and coral tee - Talbots
Jeans - Gap Edition
Shoes - Fluevog
Bag - YSL
Watch - MICHAEL Michael Kors
Scarf - can't remember brand, purchased at Bloomingdales.

  1. You are having so much fun with those orange shoes! And isn't it wonderful that you can wear this to work? I don't mind that I'm dating myself- in my early career we would have given anything to show up in this.

I'm always a bit worried that orange and black reads "Halloween" on me, but sometimes do it anyway.

  2. Imogen - thanks! I know they break the rule about shoes the same color as trousers, but sometimes it's worth it...
    ;-)

Duchesse - thank you! I struggled with Business Casual for a long time, but feel as though I'm finally comfortable with it, and able to feel put together enough to be professional while expressing a bit of my own style. Although the jacket looks black, it's actually a dark navy. My Halloween associations are probably too strong to wear these shoes with anything black.

  7. Really like how the the shoes liven up the leopard (yes, who knew leopard could ever be a bit staid, ha?); what a great pairing.

You're really wading in fearlessly to classic-with-a-twist...are ya having loads of fun? Hope so!

Vix - thanks, and yes I'm having a blast! Funny about the leopard print, what once felt so transgressive is now "classic!"

aaonce - thanks so much! It really helps to have one or two special pieces to build the ensemble around.

LBR - this scarf is definitely a new fave. It's very lightweight rayon. (psst, you can probably still find at Bloomies...)

  31. I like the outfit even more today.

I really love the shapes you've created as I think it really shows off your long legs, very nice long taper from your shoulders to your shoes.

  32. Karen - thanks! It's to your credit that I started wearing that navy jacket. It's really a workhorse!

    Special - thanks so much!

  40. Are you chic or what? Fab-u-lous look. Really, really do like your hair cut and color as I said before, but every time I see it again I'm even more convinced.

    Your shoes ARE great.

  42. t is so hard to form an impression of your outfit as you cover your face. The eyes are the window to the sole you know and it is impossible to see if this vision and coloring suits you. What a lost opportunity, don't u agree?

  43. Tracey - unfortunately I don't have a photographer on staff ;-) so the mirror shots are the only way I have to capture my own image. I've had buying a tripod and learning to use my camera's timing function on my "to do" list forever, will really have to get on it.
