  1. Let's see now - Betty Draper's maternity dresses!! And the print is a hoot.

  2. Speaking of Talbots, I'm a frequent visitor, but hadn't been in one for several weeks. Yesterday's visit was worrying...uncertain whether my local store was in the middle of a display changeover or whether the skimpiness of merch portends something else....

  3. A great way to look au courant without going all the way to trendy:).

  4. Great right now and under a jacket later. And judging from your Look Book preview a short time ago, more on the way including short capes.

  6. I love Talbot's autumn lookbook, there are two outfits that I'm going to blatantly copy.

  7. Adorable blouse. It would look great over a pencil skirt too.

  8. Talbots is certainly taking a turn for the better lately

  9. Miss J loves this top, but thinks the neckline is a "No" for her bust size...

  10. They're certainly improving their style at Talbots.

  11. Oh, I can tell I'm going to be visiting the local Talbots when I get back...it's been torture here, with all the sales, and nothing worth looking at in a size 18!

I bought myself a pretty crushed straw handbag today for half-off, but it's a change of wardrobe I'm dying for. I've been living out of a single suitcase for 2 1/2 months.

    Keep the inspiration coming, Pseu!

  12. Ha! I just bought that before reading your post ...

  13. Toby Wollin - Heh! It does look like it could have been a maternity top, with just a bit more fabric. Remember how maternity wear in the 60's always had those cutesy Peter Pan collars and big bows to draw attention away from the belly?

Anonymous - they might just be in between seasons. I've noticed our local stores seem to have limited styles and colors right now. Have you asked them?

LPC - that was my thinking too. I could *almost* wear this....

Duchesse - I wonder how that collar would lay under a jacket. I guess if it's not too stiff it might work.

  14. Duchesse - that's a nice one!

Tabitha - ooh, I hope you'll show us which ones. Would love to see your interpretation!

Belle - yes, this would work with a variety bottom half pieces, as long as you keep them narrow and fitted.

Nancy K - I have to say I've been impressed with their direction lately.

  15. Miss Janey - yes, it's iffy for me too.

    WendyB - I think they're certainly trying.

Rubiatonta - well, your timing will probably be good, as they will have started to get the fall pieces in to the stores.

Tiffany - cool! Let us know how you like it.

  16. Toby so got that right. I can absolutely see Betty in that top.

  17. What's this Talbots you speak of? We don't have it here in the Antipodes. Can I just say I love it when you post your childhood pictures? So poignant.
