Sunday Music Corner

I just learned last week that I have two three degrees of separation from one of the still-living band members of one of my favorite bands that originated in the 1970's, Little Feat.  So here's a performance of a classic LF tune, featuring Bonnie Raitt and Emmylou Harris. Enjoy!

(I first saw Emmylou Harris perform as an opening act for Jesse Colin Young in 1975.  I hadn't heard of her beforehand, but was just blown away by her voice and performance. She hit it big not long after that.)

  1. Thank you for the Sunday Music Corner. I need to check out if the earlier Sunday Music Corners.

Emmylou Harris is not well known in Austria, I did kow Bonny Riatt. (even own a record) I clicked on some more videos on Youtube. It is nice to see how she gaines selfconfidence during the years.
One question: do women who sing country music sing country music because their voice fits perfectly or do they adapt their voice so it fits perfectly for country music? I would not imagine her singing her other than country music.
BTW: she has perfect natural grey hair.
    Have a nice sunday!

  3. Oh, the memories! I saw Jessie Colin Young at Boston University in 1979, when I was a freshman. Concert in the gym. Do they still do that?

  4. You still hear that song a lot on the radio.

I wish you could hear the women sing better. Some years later they're the ones I have followed most closely.

  5. Bonnie Raitt literally looks unchanged all these years later. Bonnie, what's your secret?!

  6. I saw EmmyLou in a high school gymnasium in Missoula, Mt. I always admire how well she has aged.
