It Wasn't Me, Really!

Damn you, varmint hackers!
Apparently my e-mail has recently been hacked*, and a virus was sent out to everyone in my address book. If you have received an e-mail from me in the last couple of days with an attachment or link, please delete and do not open!  I'm taking steps to prevent recurrence. Thanks!

*Our family MAC expert says I may have a virus. Am downloading some fixes now.

  2. You have a virus on your Mac?! Doesn't Apple claim that's impossible??

  3. Oh dear. I sleepily opened it before having my morning coffee. As soon as I clicked on it, I thought, "I probably shouldn't have done that." Any advice for my Mac? Besides, "well, don't do THAT again." :)

Veuve - MAC expert recommended downloading SOPHOS software. Free and you can download from Apple.com

  5. I don't think it would be at all smart for Apple to claim it's impossible! It's DEFINITELY possible. Here's a recent article I saw that stuck in my mind: http://ow.ly/4Yu7M

All Mac people (not MAC - that's cosmetics... ;) ) need to be aware that they are being targeted and in newer, easier ways.

Please let your Mac user friends and family know that Macs' super security is a myth. I know why people used to believe it, but just as the best car and driver on the road can't guarantee safety, neither can your choice of OS!

  6. been there, sent that...
I was told it was an email hack not a computer hack, but I have gmail and msn so unless you have one of those, ..well.. much and many bad karmic thoughts in the direction of any and all hackers bastids.
