Fun posts! Thanks for sharing them.
Travel is in my future, so I will bookmark this in anticipation.
Winners all!Have you ever thought of a book on the subject? Or this could be a chapter in a book...honestly.
I agree with the commenter- you and your cohorts should collaborate on a book!!Less than 2 weeks for me... thanks for posting the links today!
Excellent reading. We're going to NYC for two weeks in the fall, so this is very timely too.
I am a terrible, awful packer. I drag out all the things I don't wear at home thinking I will wear them on vacation. It's as if I have lost all reasoning abilities as soon as the plane ticket is purchased and the suitcases come out the garage. We went to Italy and France last fall for three weeks - continuously on the move. My husband and I lugged around 150 pounds of luggage - not kidding - on trains and buses and planes. I wore about 2/3rds of what I brought. Our next big trip isn't planned for a couple of years (spring 2013). I have until then to learn how to properly and sensibly pack. And will be studying your links for help because I obviously need help.
Wonderful posts, so much fun to read and anticipate future trips! I recently bought my very first silk dress. It weighs next to nothing and folded it takes so little space I could put it in my pocket. Do you have any experience with silk garments (not knits or nubby silks) for travel? I would have to package it carefully to avoid wrinkling, of course. Is silk comfortable in hot weather?
That train case in the picture is exactly what I've decided I need, for non-airplane travel. Now to find one...I don't think anybody makes such a thing any more, so I've been searching Ebay. Have not found just the right thing yet, but will keep hunting; it's such an elegant look compared to a ripstop nylon hang-up makeup tote.
Adrienne - have you tried the Polyvore on the Floor method? It really does help distill down your travel wardrobe. Most of the time, with the right items, you can get by with just a carry-on.
