Yesterday was Take a Leopard to Work Day! Not really but wore an approximation of the ensemble above to the office.
While I'm still stumbling through the Minotaur's labyrinth that is auto research and shopping (armed with only a 50-yard box of dental floss), playing with Polyvore is actually a relaxation exercise.
After driving a bunch of different makes and models over the weekend, the surprise leader is the Toyota Camry Hybrid. Not sexy, but probably will be most practical for us long term. And long term is how we think when it comes to autos. At one point we'd fantasized about a convertible, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards right now. But I'm still waiting to hear from the insurance company and am not quite ready to sign on any dotted lines, so can't slay the beast quite yet.

From all I've heard, that is a fine choice of vehicle - reliable, economical and I find it very attractive! Oh, and A Chanel tote will put a smile on my face any given morning : >
ReplyDeleteI have the Prius (as I mentioned) and my mom has the hybrid Toyota Camry. It's a good car. No problems with it, except that she gets into multiple minor accidents which she blames on the car. She shouldn't be driving, but that's a whole other story.

ReplyDeleteThere are valid "reducing your carbon footprint" reasons for buying a hybrid. But I recently sat down and estimated how long I'd have to drive a hybrid to recover the higher purchase price in gasoline savings. Under the most favorable (to the hybrid) set of assumptions: 17 years! That little exercise was quite an eye-opener.

ReplyDeleteWe do longterm for cars as well, and the hybrids are an attractive choice for that reason, altho' we haven't gone to that option yet. Whenever we've bought new (only twice so far) we've gone to the lot in November and looked for whatever standard vehicle in our choice of size & price is left of the previous year's still-new models. They're usually glad to cut a really good deal to make room for the incoming sexier beasts, especially since we don't care about colour nor most extra features. Not at all my favourite thing to do and I'm glad you're finding little ways to have fun with it (and at least you can kick off those virtual shoes while you shop).
I think the car will be great and I adore the outfit!

ReplyDeleteCar shopping is awful, isn't it? Sounds like you've made a good choice. Spouse and I also keep saying 'next time, a convertible', but for now we have to have a car that transports kids, dogs, kayaks and camping gear ...

We're still driving our 1998 Camry--best car ever. Not as happy with our 2003 Accord hybrid. I think Toyota's bad publicity means that the new cars have undergone extreme quality control.
