Visible Monday: Autumn Color and Mixed Textures

Terri at RAGS posted last week showing a nice mix of textures in a mostly monochromatic ensemble. I love the interest that mixing textures can bring to a look, but it’s harder to capture in WIW shots. I’m really enjoying wearing my Soft Autumn colors here!

Sweater: Eileen Fisher, here. (Mine is the Cobblestone color.)
Pants: Talbots ankle cords, here.
Scarf: Eileen Fisher, not available online. It’s a very lightweight cashmere. I love the colors but are the tassels too much?
Boots: Indigo by Clarks, here.
Bracelets: Stella and Dot wrap bracelet, here. (Other one, ?  have had many years.)

LOVE these boots!!
Here’s a closeup of the texture on the sweater.  I love this linen sweater to bits (literally – it snags easily and I have to be careful but it’s such a wonderful piece, I’ve been wearing it frequently).

  1. You look fabulous! So funny, though, I have a photo with a very similar combo (autumn colours, same-coloured cords, ankle boots, Eileen Fisher sweater) lined up to post. Hoping to get to it today and join the Visible Monday throng, but not sure if I’ll make it.

  2. Damn that’s a good looking outfit. The scarf is perfect; it’s the tassels that make the whole outfit ‘pop.’

  3. No the tassels are not too much! They add a touch of whimsy and interest your monochrome outfit needs. Love it!

  4. I cannot tell you how much I love this entire outfit!! It is fabulous…from the scarf to the boots. I wish I had the money to buy Eileen Fisher…I love almost everything I see of hers. You look great!!

  5. I love the tassels on the scarf. When I first saw the picture, my first thought was about how great the tassels look. I love this neutral color combo on you.

  6. I too like textured pieces. You have chosen your colors perfectly.
The tassels are fine, bringing extra interest to the outfit.
If I h a d to change something, I´d change the bracelets to the now trendy leather bands. But, you are wearing jewelry you love, and that is the most important thing.

  7. Wow! No, the tassels are not too much, they’re just perfect, and I LOVE those boots. It must be getting a bit cooler in Southern CA :).

  8. @Pearl Well, “autumn” is relative. We’ve had temperatures mostly in the mid-high 70’s the past few days, with slightly cooler days ahead. We’ll probably still get the blast of heat that comes with Santa Ana’s at some point this month and off and on into November. I enjoy my cooler days whenever I can!

  9. You and mater are really inspiring me this morning (bed-bound and BORED)!!! Love wearing similar colours but mixing it up with texture. My latest texture obsession is linen knit fabrics (rather than woven) … May stalk that sweater or knit something similar.

  10. Oh, the tassels are wonderful on the scarf! You and Mater could be twins today–it’s amazing! And, your texture photos worked!!

  11. I truly hope you are not offended by this comment, because I mean it ONLY as a compliment.

This outfit makes you look like a gorgeous 25 yr old. I mean that in the good sense – put together just right, elegant but youthful.
    I love it!!
    STUNNING!!!!

  12. [Belated] enjoyment of this look on you; the color/texture mix is great. Glad you are enjoying “your” shades.

ps My feet and I love Clarks.
