Visibly Spotted

First, I just want to apologize for not responding to all of your lovely comments on the last few posts. I do read and appreciate every single comment. Life is still pulling me in many different directions, but I'm hopeful that things will start to settle down in the next week or two. And I haven't been able to comment on your blogs as much as I'd like, but know that I am reading and getting inspiration from you all.

I'm so glad I nabbed this J.Crew sweater when I spotted it (ha!) in the store a few weeks ago, as it seems to be sold out now, at least online available intermittently in limited sizes online. I was worried that the shape would be too long and narrow, but it seems to fit me well, and the vertical orientation of the pattern adds flattering touch.

And yes, a bit more visibility above the neck as I've gone the Full Seberg with the hair again.

Sweater: J.Crew, Tippi sweater in Leopard, no longer available online here. (thanks, cigalechanta!) Tippi sweater in other colors here.
Jeans: 7 for All Mankind, here.
Shoes: Stuart Weitzman, here.
Jewelry from Stella and Dot/Karen Karlsen: earrings here, necklace here, bracelets here and here.
And of course my Wendy Brandes ring!

See the rest of the Visible Monday contributors over at Not Dead Yet Style!

  1. It's a lovely fit on you, very flattering. You are so lucky to be able to buy J Crew locally, it costs me double to source it here.

  2. Marvelous! I just cropped my hair a bit closer, too, and think we both look smashing. ;)

  6. That is a very fine sweater, great nabbing on your part! And your Jean Seberg hair is smashing too. Thanks so much for participating in Visible Monday, I appreciate you.

  7. You look great. I saw the sweater and almost nabbed it, now sorry I didn't - it is quite flattering and not at all over the top (which was my worry).

  8. You look great! A clean and simple but with a hint of sass. And your haircut is perfection on you.
Glad to hear that life is easing up a bit. It's amazing what we can juggle, isn't it?!

  9. Hi Pseu, I hope life in your world eases up a bit in the coming week. I love your short hair cut so much, it's what inspired me to chop mine off! It's been close to 5 weeks since my cut and I feel like a wooly mammoth, even though people keep complimenting me on the shorter cut. I can't wait for my hair cut next week and I think I'll bring a print out of this picture of you to my stylist so I can get him to cut mine even shorter. He seems to be afraid to chop away.

The animal print top is perfect on you, very flattering. I never think of wearing dressy shoes with jeans but I like the look, must try it.

  14. It's really perfect on you! Just the right amount of spots, without overdoing it.

(I have one slightly gray-toned leopard foulard which got its inaugural outing this weekend. Sublime! Just enough, and not too much...)

  15. Love the outfit. It is just perfect on you. Animal print is such a classic and it looks wonderful on you.
I have a question, how do you make your pictures angle like you do? It is such a neat effect.

  22. Great outfit! And I love the Full Seberg. I've been having my hair cut short ala Jamie Lee Curtis for several months now and I love it.

  23. @Bourbon&Pearls Thank you. We do take our J.Crew availability for granted, I'll admit.

  24. @Sal Thanks! This is the shortest I've gone in a long time, but really like it!

  25. @Mardel Thank you! I always feel more "myself" with short hair.

  28. @materfamilias Thanks so much. I'm afraid the juggling is wearing on me a bit, and I rather selfishly am ready to be done with juggling quite so *much.*

  29. @Susan Tiner Thank you, Susan. I hate that feeling of being *past* ready for a haircut. Your stylist should be able to help you choose a good style based on your hair's texture too. I love the look of a classic pump with jeans.

  30. @hostess of the humble bungalow Thank you so much! I'm very fond of these shoes, and the sweater too.

  31. @Lorrie Thank you! It's amazing the difference that shoes can make to an outfit.

  32. @metscan Thank you! I know you're not fond of leopard print in general, so I take that as high praise indeed.

  33. @Anonymous Thanks again for letting us know. I found the link and edited the post to include. Hope you like it!

  34. @BigLittleWolf Thank you! Yes, it's a smaller print and a softer contrast, so it doesn't overwhelm. "Just enough and not too much" can be so hard to find sometimes!

  35. @Debbi@SheAccessorizesWell Thank you! Actually it's quite simple: I just tilt the camera. I find my hand is steadier when held at this angle, and easier to get the whole outfit into the frame.

  36. @fashion and frank Thanks! J.Crew has really been turning out some great styles lately.

  37. @spacegeek33 I don't think I've lost weight; the sweater and jeans combo are just very flattering. And our friend, backlighting.

  38. @laurieann

  39. Love the haircut. I've done the Full Seberg (never used that name, but it's perfect!) before, but now I'm in a longer stage.

Love the sweater, too. You look fab.

  40. You look fab in your spotted top Ms Deja...wonderful. And how exciting from your previous post re ; Diane K - and I would kill for her hair too, totally agree!!X

  41. *Love* you in leop+pixie! Makes me think of that old, true advice about finding what works and sticking with it. Cannot see your lips but am guessing you are wearing something fairly definite with that.

  42. Smashing outfit! I agree the jeans are purrfect - I might have to get a pair of those. Thanks for sharing your 'je ne sais quoi' style.

  45. @Duchesse
Thanks so much. I always feel like I've come back to myself when I get this haircut... I'm wearing a bit more color on the lips though not too dark. Today was Rouge Coco "Mademoiselle."
