We're expecting rain today, so yesterday afternoon I took a few moments to check on how things are going in the garden...
That yellow rose is for my Texas peeps....
Brand new leaves and blooms on the liquidambar; when the light is just so they almost seem to glow. It's hard to capture in photos, but the picture below gets close.
We have a few small patches of this ground cover. It hasn't really thrived, but occasionally we get these little fairy-sized blooms (this one is about 1.5" high).
Is anyone else excited about the return of Mad Men tonight??? You can create your new Mad Men avatar here...
(wish they had some better clothing options for women, though...)
~

I've never seen Mad Men (I know...) but would like to start watching. Can I start tonight? Will I catch on to the story line?
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so beautiful, everything is blooming here as well!
ReplyDeleteYea for Mad Men, how fun to have an avatar!

Soon three years, since I last watched tv.
ReplyDeleteYour garden, omg. Please come over to see mine!
Your garden is looking so nice! Welcome spring.
ReplyDeleteI'm also looking forward to the return of Mad Men (and Game of Thrones too).
What beautiful photos. I just noticed this morning that some of the trees are completely leafed out. The blooming trees are still blooming some, but mostly losing the blossoms. It is just too early!
ReplyDeleteLovely garden photos. Yes, we're also excited about Mad Men! But we watch it on iTunes so we'll have to wait until after it has aired tonight to see the premiere.
ReplyDeleteKathy Peck: you can get previous seasons on netflix or via iTunes. Why not watch the previous seasons first before starting with the new season?
I've got me evening planned around Mad Men!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers! I love the pink and white rose!! I haven't watched Mad Men...which is strange since I worked in advertising for so long! I might have to check it out sometime!
ReplyDeleteMontréalers eager to see how Megan, played by local actor Jessica Paré fares en route to the altar.
ReplyDeletekathy peck, suggest you rent/download Season 1 and watch from the beginning. Character development parallel to the changing times and culture is a big part of the show.
I think there must be a generational divide regarding Mad Men. As a woman who actually lived through those times, I have absolutely no interest in re-living the bad old days!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is lovely!
No television at our house so I have managed to avoid the Mad Men frenzy. I am impressed by how many things are blooming in your area. Our lilacs are beginning to open...a sign of the morel mushrooms to come.
ReplyDeleteLove the ground cover, looks like Ajuga from here. Your garden photos are always a pleasure!
ReplyDeleteI just spent 30 minutes playing with the MadMen avatar. jeesh. My husband thinks I'm nuts.
