If you're looking for a closed-toe summer shoe and want an alternative to the traditional ballet flat, take a look at these patent leather "Viv" flats from J.Crew. Especially in this poppy color, they can perk up a neutral ensemble, and look polished enough for the office. Go up 1/2 to a full size on these; they run small. Also available in black and nude.

Love the poppy color. Real flats are starting to become as uncomfortable as heels for me though.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a pick me up for a summer outfit! I'm deficient in the red shoe department.
ReplyDeleteLooks like they forgot women have toes. No wonder they run small!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful...I just looked at the nude color and it is tempting! Thanks for letting us know!
ReplyDeleteLove, love the bright fun color with white or blue jeans. As long as they are comfy!

Great color! Since I wear an 11, my feet would look huge - like pointy canoes! I will admire them from afar.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the recommendation Pseu. For times when you want a little more heel height without discomfort, J Crew's Valentina pump at 2 and 3/4 inches is an excellent choice. I've purchased several pair of J.Crew shoes over the past few years and have been very impressed by the quality of materials, workmanship and comfort. The Valentina pump has become my go-to shoe for just about every occasion that I don't want to wear flats. I've given up on spending $500+ for a pair of designer shoes . Also, I won't buy a heel over this height, anything above this is just not comfortable for my any longer.
ReplyDeletelovely colour, but a bit too flat for me
ReplyDeleteI believe that You are the perfect type/size to wear these shoes. Good to have some variety for a change.
ReplyDeleteVery nice choice, and in a great color.
ReplyDeleteLove these, and find them fresher than the ubiquitous ballerine (yet also very retro Audrey Hepburn). For me they would be "restaurant shoes" as they have no discernible arch for walking. But I would have a second Negroni and put up with them.
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of shoes similar to these, except with an even pointier toe, that I bought on a trip to Italy some years ago. I will never give my "elf" shoes away! They're wonderful party shoes that I wear several times a year.
ReplyDeleteCute shoe! But what I've been coveting for quite some time is the J Crew "Quorra" ballet flat. Haven't found my size in the store, so can't try them on, but sooooo tempted to order them...love the perforated leather and the little lace-up detail on the heel. I don't really NEED more shoes, but......
ReplyDeleteI love the Nude!
ReplyDeleteI adore the color, but I swear... I can't even walk in flats! (Now a nice 3" heel, and you've got another story.)
